A new play by Christine Carmela, directed by Evan Michael Woods, presented first at Amphibian Stage.
It's 1889 London, darling, and lifelong “friends” Matthias and Aloysius believe they’ve found the perfect solution to dispel any rumors of homosexuality; proposing to high society sisters, Molly and Genevieve Houseington. However, their plan is threatened when the ever-discerning Viscountess Houseington begins to suspect something fruity about her daughters’ suitors. Get ready for a sidesplitting, love-struck romp that’s enough to make Oscar Wilde clutch his pearls!

Meet The Drama Queens.
Christine Carmela and Evan Michael Woods are the dynamic duo behind the charming new comedy, Miss Molly. Their creative partnership began when they were roommates at TCU, where Christine first drafted this Wilde homage.
"We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response to the world premiere of Miss Molly: A Marital Deceit of Honest Intentions at Amphibian Stage. The nine months we spent developing the play in preparation for this production were invaluable, providing us with crucial insights from a wide range of audiences. This run has been a dream five years in the making, and working with dear friends has brought the play to life beyond our wildest fantasies.
Now, Miss Molly is ready to take the next step. We are looking for a theatre to help us continue her journey. The play made great strides in preparation for the world premiere and now we're ready to further refine these changes and trim the fat. With your support, we can further develop and elevate Miss Molly to new heights."
Carmela is a screenwriter, playwright, and performer based out of Los Angeles. Next Up: performing in Notes on Killing Seven Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Board Members by Mara Vélez Mélendez at Yale Rep. Carmela originated the role of Lolita at Soho Rep and reprised the role at Moxie Theatre. Woods is a multi-hyphenate theatre artists based out of Fort Worth, TX. Just completed: directing the world premiere of The Amazing, Fabulous, and Spectacular Untruths of Juan Garcia by Kathleen Culebro (Amphibian Stage). Up Next: World Premiere of Destroying David by Jason Odell Williams (Circle Theatre).
